Finding a shopping companion can be a chore. Luckily, I've Kee to accompany me to busy Orchard to shop for CNY clothes as commanded by my mum. Thanks mate. Surprisingly, Kee is a great shopping companion (better than most females actually. haha.) and I got three tops and a bag which is really funky. The best top has the word "umbrella" and a whole load of umbrellas all over. Haha. It looks funny. Today was fun.

Fancy bumping into Jon Messinger? Haha. Just go to Scotts for dinner.

Purple People Eater

I just dyed my hair purple. Yes, D-I-Y style. It says on the box that it's "grape". That's purple. However, it looks a little rusty red to me than purple. I've bought the hair dye for quite some time now. After school, I just had this itchy urge to dye my hair. Haha. Plus, Kee came to school today with bright RED hair! I thought it was refreshing to see him in red. I hope my hair is purple. Really. I can't really tell. That's the problem with D-I-Y. The effects are not apparent enough.

Jeremy earned himself $30 for screaming Japanese, jumping (looks more like dancing) on the bus half-naked while Boon videoed everything down. Haha! Only a few of us will appreciate stunts like this. We all board Bus 74 from SIM as Jeremy pulled his stunt. Luckily the bus driver was cool about it. Haha. C'mon, it's FREE entertainment. But, good entertainment. Haha.

Have you ever walk into the class hoping to learn something from your lecturer and your lecturer asked you, "How do you maximise the window?" I'm in freaking Intergrated Digital Media class, for pete's sake! Even worse, "Does anyone know where is my root folder?" *smacks forehead* I can't believe I'm learning under an amateur.

Campus TV website is up and running. Do not mind the broken links because it's incomplete. Hee. I promise to update everything tomorrow morning. Tomorrow is shopping day. WHEE!

Dancer in the Rain

The Company starring Neve Campbell & James Franco may not be everyone's cup of tea. It's not a plot-driven film but an art house material shot in cinema verite style. However, the ballet dance sequences were shot beautifully as the film began with electronic ballet dance which I thought was pretty funky. Who would have thought the entire film was shot in DV? Haha, no wonder it looks indie. I think Shaun didn't like the film. It was something different from what the big budget films are offering. It's more of an experience when you watch "The Company".

I heard tea gives you bad breath. I've been drinking alot of green tea lately. Just the idea of hot cup of tea by the side of my bed while I'm typing on my iBook or watching a movie just seems fun. CNY is just around the corner. I'm actually quite worried about going home. Maybe I'm just paranoid. The fact that I'm going to JB to catch my bus next Tues night does sound a little frightening. Why do I keep getting the feeling that I might be raped or brutally murdered or die in a freak accident? Hmm. I need reassurance.

The Last White Samurai

I've a confession to make. When I read about this movie months ago, I laughed my head off as I thought, "You must be kidding me. Tom Cruise as 'The Last Samurai'? I'm not watching this". Last month, I saw the trailer before 'LOTR: Return of the King' and I went like, "The trailer looks good. Think I'll watch it". Today, thanks to the nice people at Warner Bros, CTV was invited to the gala premiere of 'The Last Samurai' (We've 8 tickets, haha) with Japanese people wearing their traditional gear.

My verdict? Hell yeah, this is farking good! Oscar-worthy, man. LOTR can kiss my ass. 4.5 out of 5 stars. I LOVE it!

WARNING: Spoilers ahead! Ken Watanabe is hot! I would love to have a "conversation" with him. Check out "Bob". Haha, the most underrated and "important" character in the movie. Cruise has his funny moments. I never quite fancy his acting methods these days (Yes, he did a great job in 'Born on Fourth of July' & 'Jerry McGuire' & 'Magnolia') but he was pretty good in this one. Ken Watanabe was better. Hah!

It's funny how the movie was shot in New Zealand (or some may call "Middle Earth") and Van, Roy, Jan, Terence, Lina & I had a good laugh associating the cast with LOTR characters. We found "Legolas" (SERIOUS!), "Aragorn", "Gandalf", "Arwen" (There's only ONE female character) & "Gimli". Haha, the Jap version of LOTR but BETTER. I can't help thinking how "GAY" they portrayed the Emperor. He sounded like a faggot. He even looks like a girl. WTF.

The final battle scene was emo & powerful. I admit I teared during the final moments of Katsumoto. The spirit of a true Samurai was revealed during the battle scenes that made the enemies stop and fall on their knees in respect of the warriors. The last man standing is "The Last Samurai" whose destiny hasn't come yet (maybe because he isn't Japanese). Katsumoto uttered the final sentence of his unfinished poem before he drew his last breath. Damn, that was super emo. My heart ached at that moment.

Oh well. That was one great movie. I hope they bag some awards in some fancy awards ceremony. Cruise is good but not great. Watanabe deserved a nomination for Best Supporting Actor. But that never happens. He's Asian. Watever. I've an 8am class tomorrow. G'nite y'all.
