fifth post @ 1120pm
23:20 marks the last antibiotic pill I'm swallowing. I hate pill consumption (or at least keeping track of the hours before the next pill). It's not addictive for me but I love carrying my pill box around (it's a violet Winnie the Pooh which I bought from Thailand last year). Ah, 'nuff about my pill-taking habit.

Back to real business. Have I been doing much studying? Nope. Been juggling blogging, chatting, reading my notes, napping, doing some online research and also daily activities. Lack of concentration. It always happens. Every single time I have an exam paper approaching, I will lose the motivation to study. It's possibly a bad curse. Face it, I'm just not cut-out for the studying shit. Can I request for more projects or thesis papers instead?

Revelation of the day: I need sleep. Also, I need coffee. A strong double-espresso shot (preferably from Starbucks). I will study through the night and I will sleep for the entire day tomorrow. So far, I've covered diffusion of innovation and media 21. I need to learn some technology determinism. sounds like it ties in with diffusion of innovation. I'm just making a wild guess. I shall stop blogging lyrics. Shall stop bloggin for the day. Later y'all.

I redo (and yes, completed) the 'Are You a Quirkyalone?' quiz. This is the VERDICT:

Your score was 97. Very quirkyalone:
Relatives may give you quizzical looks, and so may friends, but you know in your heart of hearts that you are following your inner voice. Though you may not be romancing a single person, you are romancing the world. Celebrate your freedom on National Quirkyalone Day, February 14th!

Why February 14th? On Valentine's Day? Can't it be on July 30th? It's a nice date you know *innocent grin* I almost score close to 100. Hmm. Morrissey was listed as a quirkyalone according to this link to a link that doesn't work. Haha. I guess there are alot of quirkyalones out there. They just need to get out more.

Thou shalt stay away from blogger.com and friendster.com and icq and study study study study study study study study

Come see what we all talk about
People moving to the moon
Stop baby don't go stop here
Never stop living here
Till it eats the heart from your soul
Keeps down the sound of your
Silent sigh
Silent sigh, silent sigh silent sigh
Keeps down all move me down
But don't love each other
No don't love each other
Never gonna be the same

Been looping Radiohead's Life in a Glasshouse on my iTunes playlist. The back-up woodwind instruments are fantastic. I think it's a trumpet. It seems to be my next-best study music (I tried listening to Classical music on Internet radio, including electronica! Nothing works) and I can't find my "cramping-for-exam" mix-cd. Shit.

Still listening to my break-up mix cd. Hmm.

Well Of Course I'd Like To Sit Around And Chat
Well Of Course I'd Like To Stay And Chew The Fat
Well Of Course I'd Like To Sit Around And Chat
But Someone's Listening In

I've gain a new experience - not relatively breakthrough but NEW to me. I'm thinking of Diffusion of Innovation theory now. Simply because I could place my experience as an example.

For instance, I think I'm part of the Early Majority here (frequent interaction, sometimes an opinion leader, deliberate before adopting a NEW idea). Thus, I'm not an Early Adopter here because I'm definitely not a role model in this particular "field". LOL. However, I guess it will take me awhile to get comfortable with the whole idea or experience which I may later choose to continue (after expressing my interest).

However, my experience has led me to discontinue the "idea". I think my decision is a cross between "disenchantment discontinuance" (a decision to reject an idea as a result of dissatisfaction with it's performance) and "replacement discontinuance" (a decision to reject an idea in order to adopt a better idea). My point is I'm not rejecting the former but rather seek a better idea for improvements.

Isn't application of Masina theories wonderful? You can speak ambiguously and still, mastering the theories for Tuesday's paper. Tralalalalala.

I remember those cassette tape days where I used to make mix tapes for my friends and sometimes add my own "comments" in the beginning and ending of the songs. I even compiled some driving songs and play in the car when my mum drove me to school. I received a mix-cd today from Andy Kaufman. 15 tracks with a mixture of electronica, rock and lovely Velvet Underground as the finale. I think I'm in love with the song now.

AFTER HOURS - Velvet Underground
one, two, three...
If you close the door
the night could last for ever
leave the sunshine out and say 'hello' to never
all the people are dancing and they're having such fun
I wish it could happen to me
but if you close the door
I'll never have to see the day again
if you close the door
the night could last for ever
leave the wineglass out
and drink a toast to never
Oh! someday I know someone will look into my eyes
and say 'hello'
you are my very special one
but if you close the door
I'll never have to see the day again
Dark cloudy bars
Shiny Cadillac cars
and the people are in subways and trains
looking grey under rain as they stand disarrayed
all the people look over in the dark
and if you close the door
the night could last for ever
leave the sunshine out and say 'hello' to never
all the people are dancing and they're having such fun
I wish it could happen to me
'cause if you close the door
I'll never have to see the day again
I'll never have to see the day again
once more
I'll never have to see the day again

Haha, I'm getting a lil' too carried away. I don't blog lyrics but I can't resist this one. For once, it kinda means something. Go figure.

I think Quentin Tarantino have been hanging out too much with Robert Rodriguez. If I see Tarantino, I'll probably ask him, "Wassup?!?" 'Kill Bill' has a killer soundtrack - I mean it. It's like all the sudden you get some 80s shit, Japanese emo, punk rock and electronica! WTF! Uma Thurman is hot hot hot. I'll give it an 8 out of 10. It wasn't an artsy fantastic Oscar-worthy film but it was fun. Great fun though. Go get the soundtrack. It's too f-up.

Today is such an amazing day. Words can't describe how weird and yeah, (have to use this word again) amazing my day was. I need to sleep on it. too much to absorb in a day. Later.

it's all about sex
Ah. Had a fun chat with Janice & Vallie today at the library after a not-so-horrendous CTV meeting and short lunch at Canteen 1. Not to sound as a pervert, but discussion about SEX is interesting. It's intriguing, in my personal opinion. C'mon, it's like the all-so-ever hot topic since our hormonal teenage days (for some of us, primary school days).

There's always a first time for everything. Try visiting this site for more f-up first time stories. Think about your first time having sex - would you want to make love with a first-timer or an experienced one? I choose the former. A little less embarassing if you screw up the first time. More experimental. However, with or without condoms? That's tricky. What if you're in the mood and there aren't condoms around? Sigh.

Speaking about physical contact, I used to have this silly thought about losing your virginity at a certain age. I crave for touch sometimes. But, it must feel "right" at a certain moment. Gosh, I've turned twenty and I don't care if I'm still a virgin at the age of 30. It doesn't really make much a difference. It's just ten years down the road. However, it does sounds sad to be a virgin at 30. We'll have to see about that.

Breaking the rule of being a quirkyalone. Hmm. I'm beginning to really dig the word, "quirkyalone". Any more funky words I can associate with?

second post of the day
Reasons (aka excuses) why I can't study
1. I'm sick. 'Nuff said.
2. Nobody seem to have the lecture notes. Sigh.
3. Been doing some "catching up" with ol' pals.
4. I've finally finish watching 'The Portrait of a Lady'!
5. I've finally finish reading 'The Books of Magic: Summonings'!
6. Attempting to revamp my blog's splash image.
7. Had too much antibiotics. Made me sleepy.
8. I kept blowing bubbles in my room.

Friendship is a strange thing. Chandu (aka Zilch) found me on Friendster and messaged me. From what I recall, I don't think I've ever spoken to him much back then. I probably found out more about him from his Friendster's profile than our conversations years ago. Apparently, he thought I was one of the "bukit mas gang" (I think he meant it in a "shallow" way) - I won't deny that I was part of the "bukit mas gang". In fact, I don't see why not. I missed the "bukit mas gang".

After two Friendster messages, he's probably one of the people I could potentially click with. I probably have more in common with him than most of my closest friends now. I'm glad we finally catch up now. I've been talking to Kuang Hau lately on ICQ. I think we all need to hug more.

first post of the day
Yum Yum. Botak Boon treated dinner last night at Chinatown after a drama decision whether to go or not. Well, I didn't choose to be so drama but I was really feelin' sick. Had a lil' cold beer. Guess what? Beer belly is only a myth according to this article. So where does my belly come from? Sigh.

I'm really falling sick. Been having a slight cough and back aches. Bad sign. I think I need sleep. It's 1am. Sigh. Must start studying tomorrow and stop procrastinating. MUST MUST MUST start. Well, at least start. Hmm. MUST remind myself to start then. Sigh, this is so hard. I hate studying.

second entry of the day
I was reading this article or some sort like that. Hmm, quirkyalones. I used to be a quirkyalone. I guess I fit into every description that the "creator", Sasha Cagen mentioned except I DO NOT own a vibrator.

C'mon, I love Ally McBeal. Probably the only TV character I feel closest to. Her funky toilet behaviours, dancing babies, wild imaginations of men and gosh, many break-ups. I even bought the series (not the DVD boxset - those days, VCDs), first season which is probably my favourite. She's a quirkyalone except that she dated so many men. Dang. Including Larry. Dang.

I like this one:
"We are the puzzle pieces who seldom fit with other puzzle pieces. We inhabit singledom as our natural resting state. In a world where marriage and proms define the social order, we are, by force of our personalities and inner strength, rebels."

Woah. You mean it's a community now?

The article ends like this:
"And when she asks, is being a quirkyalone is a life sentence, I say yes, at the core, one is always quirkyalone. But when the quirkyalone collides with another, ooh la la. The earth quakes."

I guess I found my other quirkyalone. Hee.

p.s. I did the "Are you a quirkyalone?" and this is what i got:
"Your score was 85. Ignorant Ignoramous: Finish the test, Bozo!"

Haha.

Oh, this is hilarious too:
Top Ten Quirkyalone songs
1. Dancing with myself - Billy Idol
2. Polyester Bride - Liz Phair
3. My Apple Tree - Erykah Badu
4. My Way - Frank Sinatra
5. Mary Jo - Belle & Sebastian
6. Walk Unafraid - R.E.M.
7. Fruit Tree - Nick Drake
8. If Love Was A Red Dress - Lone Justice
9. Miss You - Bjork
10. Believe - Cher

p.s. someone should compile this and sell it at the black market.

first entry of the day
It's 720am. I'm awake. Think I slept too early last night. Maybe I should just head down to school now and watch a movie or something. Hee. I'm not anticipating the CTV meeting later at 1pm. In fact, I never like sitting down and stoning for meetings. In particular, CTV ones. I''m sorry, blame the short attention span.

Last night, I dreamt about Kurt Cobain. Strangely enough, I've been dreaming alot lately. I've stopped dreaming for about a year or so and now, my dream marathon is back. I used to blast, "Nirvana Unplugged in New York" in late primary and early secondary school. Arguably, my favourite Nirvana album - yes, Nevermind comes in second. I'm not like a purists or something as long as the acoustic version sounds better. I practically grew up with punk alternative stuff like Greenday, Smashing Pumpkins, Blur, Oasis, Bjork, Pulp blah blah blah. Yup, generic mainstream stuff. Haha.

I guess I listened to R.E.M. then but didn't pay much attention. I remembered my penpal from U.K. was an R.E.M. nutcase. Her name's Sheena (reminds me of 'Sheena: Queen of the Jungle'). I lost contact with her. I remembered her telling me about her boyfriends and every mail she talks about a different guy. I never actually 'connect' with her but I find her mails pretty interesting. She doesn't talk much about movies or music so I stop writing to her. After two years, I decided to write back but I didn't get a reply from her. Oh well.

My room is in a mess. Think I better start reorganizing everything. Sigh.

Top 5 reasons why I need to change my hp number

1. Sexually deprived perverts claimed to have gotten my number from some Wacky Talky chat line. Buzz off!
2. My bills are freaking high. M1 sucks.
3. I can memorised my hp number. I don't want to.
4. I've never won 4D with my last four-digit.
5. I can't call mum. M1 sucks sucks sucks.

You know what? Blogs are b-o-r-i-ng. At least the ones I used to read. I'm talking about people taking a break from blogging while immersing themselves in the Friendster mania, lousy content, lack of personal/juicy bits and no more Kavin's blog-like scandal to create 1,000 hits per hour. A year ago, everyone was linked to everyone. Now, I'm not even bothered. I'm also not bothered to change my blog's layout.

My blogging days started from the very amateurish Diaryland. I've always wanted an online diary. Diaryland was idiot-proof since I'm abit of a HTML idiot. Then, blogger came along and I started blogging (that was also when I discovered the word "blog" short for "weblog"). I noticed that people in my class (Year 2) was also in this blogging mania and soon, I've joined the circle of bloggers in MCM. As more people joined the blogging community, you tend to self-censor even more drastically. Soon, people just stopped blogging. It's like knowing the entire world is peering into your personal space.

Honestly. I still love blogging. It's hassle-free without the basic requirement of pen and paper. It's too tiring to write when you can type much faster. And, you know that everything is being archived properly and not take up your room's space. I know I can't really read my own handwriting nowadays. Looks more like scratches to me.

Alright. I've decided to give my blog a make-over. Both layout and content. I'll post more crap and make my blog looks crap. Haha. I'm sick of the black layout. I'm sick to see someone else using the exact same black layout. I'm sick of my own boring content. Watch out: a brand new blog in a matter of days. Haha, let's hope I keep my promise. Anyway, not many people read my blog. So, what the hell.

Wow.
Never once, Taiping has been so exciting.
Lemme recap what's the highlights and horror stories during past few days.

1. The trip back was G-R-E-A-T! For once, I'm not travelling home alone.
2. We immediately had dim sum & dried curry mee the moment we reach Taiping. Yum!
3. Funny phrases (or rather corny ones) like Baby Kailan, Life Goes On with Cactus & etc.
4. I do not understand the fascination with Ramly burgers.
5. Andrew will remember this: "My doggie, not your doggie"
6. Chee Cheong Fun is a break-up breakfast meal. Do not consume with your significant other.
7. Do not introduce your friends to Shashi Dharma.
8. I think this trip broke a couple up but brought the other two together *hint*
9. It was a painful Deepavali. Ouch.
10. I went shopping! Yee-hah!

Ok, that's enough information. I hope my Docprod group is doing fine and not cursing me for my absence. No worries, peeps... I'll be back to edit more! Need to pack my bag and bathe now. Take care.

Sunday, October 26

Andrew left last night. I forgotten to bring a hanky or something to make the "farewell" more drama. You know like those pathetic people who wave their hankies and cry because the young man is going to find fortune in the big city. Also, giving endless advices. Mostly useless ones. Yeah, yesterday it kinda felt like that.

I think I'm gonnna avoid Chee Cheong Fun for awhile. Stupid food. Blah!

Which hurts more?

Making a mistake that makes me happy?
Or doing the right thing that makes me sad?

I wonder.

No more hamburgers for now. I'm on a diet.
