I was just thinking on the bus, "Should I do a sales pitch on my blog?" After reading two blogs which are also selling tickets... nahz. I just ICQ msg almost everyone on my ICQ list. Hmm, kinda regret it now. But, I must at least sell two or three... haiz. Sickening man! Now, I'm at Carol's using her comp... whee. She has a faster connection than me. disconnected
Hmm. Due to some weird reasons (I'm not a techie person when it comes to some pc shit) - I'm unable to connect to the net from home! Dammit. I feel so disconnected. The down-side is not able to check my mail and send my articles or any nonsense to anyone. I have to resort to SMS-ing (guarantee broke this month) and phone calls. Bummer. Must check with my uncle bout that.
Now, I'm in the labs (surprisingly not cold at all - mebbe I'm immune) looking to rip photos of Auckland off the net for our travel feature on New Zealand. Haha, I actually slept last nite and typed everything in the morning. Yes Van... I woke up at amazing 5am to read those thick travel books. Hmm. I'm such a big fat procrastinator. GTG... later.

writing is a nasty, terrible and lonely process
Listen: Outthaway! by The Vines
Here I am.
Facing the pc like a mirror. Not like I scrutinise it or whatever. I don’t even look at the mirror. Everyday – the same thing. Open Microsoft Word. Open Kazaa. Open ICQ. Open Photoshop 7. Open Windows Media Player. Open Internet Explorer. ZZZZZZ. At this moment, I’m trying to figure out how to maximise my few hours and go to bed early. I’ve got AdCamp sales promo proposal to type out. Articles to think about. New issue of FIRST mag to read while swooning over the X-Men postcards and Matrix poster… and Colin Farrell!
Everyday, there are more casualties and painful stories. As Micheal Moore said, “Shame on you, Bush!” To kill one man, you sacrifice your people. Not one, but hundreds already. These are the men who died for your own selfish reasons. These men have families to go home to. Damn you.
Hmm. As we thought the CTV results would be out today, we eagerly waited for the “phone call” from the lovely CTV people. Haha, must learn to be detach but still I was pretty anxious about it. No phone-call though. It seems like today isn’t the day YET. We had our 3rd year electives briefing today. I kinda know what I’ll be choosing to do next semester. Here goes:
1. Documentary Production
2. Short Film & Video Scriptwriting
3. TV Journalism
4. Advanced Advertising
5. Advertising Creatives
6. Acting & Directing (if offered)
Hmm. Such a shame that Acting & Directing might not be offered cuz there’s no one to teach! Lame. How can they do this? Poor Jeremy who came to MCM to do this elective and he was flabbergasted! Hopefully I will be doing CTV as my specialist if not, haha… we are gonna propose our own specialist – a media rival to all the available specialist projects! We’re gonna form our own CMTV (campus mobile TV as opposed to CTV czu we don’t exacty haveour studio so we go mobile!), Coolwave (as opposed to Heatwave, Herald Tribune (as opposed to Tribune cuz Herald Bangras is gonna be our lecturer-in-charge!) and Hip (as opposed to Hype). Hahaha. That would be our alternative if we were all kicked out from CTV or Heatwave. Our rationale? To create a stimulation of the real world where competitions are everywhere and also to create a well-rounded Mass Communication student in all media.

transcribing is a bitch
Listen: Bohemian Like You by Dandy Warhol (Haha, as in Andy Warhol?)
What a pain. At least I’m done with transcribing the CheeK interview. What a bitch. I swear I’m a little deaf now and CheeK’s voice is still ringing in my ears. ARGGHH! Now, the torture of writing the article is plaguing my already very stressed brain. I can’t believe I haven’t thought of what to do for Feature Writing assessed tutorial 2. Haven’t studied Media Management (well, I think there is a test). Still need to rewrite my travel feature which finally got back to me after two freaking weeks! CheeK article, obviously and my kick-ass music review on The Vines! AdCamp sales promo shit. I just realised I’ve forgotten to hand up my PQS mystery shopper! YIKES. I feel like shit now. Persis is gonna kill me if she finds out!
I feel so disorganised. My room is in a mess. Like it got hit by a tornado. Even worse, a nuclear bomb or missile. I haven’t clean it for about a month already! Feel like I’m living in a dumpster. With this tower of mags (my collection of CLEO, FHM, First, Rolling Stones and even one copy of LIME mag with Spiderman on the cover… lol) beside me… my many bags lying around… VCDs waiting for me to watch or stored away… lil’ papers lying around… my Polaroid (CheeK has the same one, FYI)… my very very jumbled up notes… my journal… ticket stubs…post-it-notes sticking at every corner. Gosh! It’s a nightmare! Especially for a clean freak like me. ARGGHH!
Today was my sudden CTV interview with Stephen Paine at 2pm. I was jittery at first – bursting into songs (during radio lerr) and dancing in the studios… well, it’s the “xiao wen” way of keeping calm… and surprise! surprise! It wasn’t all that bad. I like Mr Paine’s straight-forwardness and honest opinions. He didn’t really quite “sabor” me although I thought I pulled it off quite well. I think he’s gonna shortlist me as production manager. Just my instincts ler. It’s funny cuz I went in applying for Station Manager but came out as a Production Manager applicant. Haha. Weird. I don’t mind shit – like CheeK said, “you must learn to be detach or you will die”. Haha. I’ll be quoting CheeK from now on. He said quite a lot of inspirational stuff. One thing I always do wrong is being so attached to things and having high expectations. Maybe I should just take CheeK’s advice. Keep cool. Don’t believe it till it’s really happening. Cool.
OSCARS! Hmm, my predictions are right! Damn. I’m psychic! Haha. Nahz, just kidding. But, I was surprise that Daniel Day-Lewis and Martin Scorsese lost to Adrian Brody and Polanski! That gives me another reason to watch “The Pianist”. Hmm… the question is, “WHEN?” Nicole Kidman won! Woohoo! Now she can say, “BEAT that, Mr. Cruise!” *snicker* nyek nyek… and Catherine Zeta-Jones won too! WOW. Chicago won Best Picture. Not a surprise to me. I kinda expected it cuz you’re talking about people from the Academy who vote… they grew up watching musicals… and you know… general appeal. Ok. Eminem won! Enough with the Oscars.
Advice of the day: Detach or DIE! Haha.
